Personality:
Gregori likes to be known as the strong, silent type. He might appear to be cold and distant from others, but this is simply because he isn’t very good at starting a conversation. This may be because Gregori believes in the tried and true tradition that actions speak louder than words, and prefers to let his fists do the talking. Gregori has always believed that pure power is the highest ideal, and will do whatever it takes to rise up the ranks and become as strong as he can. If you manage to crack his icy exterior, you'll find yourself a valuable ally and loyal comrade.

Gregori is very good at following orders and fighting (especially the part where he hits something), but has little tolerance for stupidity, arrogance, and weakness. While he may tolerate these qualities in a superior officer to an extent, it would be unwise to provoke him. Although it takes a great deal to get him truly angry (most of the time he’s just irritated), once he’s enraged, you’ll find out how he earned the nickname “Ursaring.”

Backstory:
Gregori Petrovich grew up in a small mountain village just outside of Snowpoint City. His father (of whom Grigori is extremely proud of) was a veteran from the Great War, and loved to excite him as a boy with tales of combat and adventure from his days in the Kanto naval force. Although his father succumbed to pneumonia while Gregori was in his late teens, the young man would never forget his words.

Inspired by his father’s stories, Gregori grew enamored of fighting and the pursuit of strength. With no war to fight in, Gregori would frequently join in the village’s hunting parties. The young man was invigorated by the thrill of battle: wrestling a full-grown Machoke to the ground, swiftly dodging the incoming claws of a deadly Sneasel, embedding his trusty knife in the thick bark of a Snover. In his home village, he was soon known as “The Ursaring” for his strength and ferocity. When not pummeling Pokemon to death, Gregori enjoys the peace and quiet of fishing at Lake Acuity.

Over the years, Gregori found that fighting the same Pokémon over and over again (and a few humans, thanks to copious amounts of alcohol and some unkind words about mothers) bored him. He wanted something new, a true test of his strength that would rekindle the fire burning within. The opportunity presented itself when a man claiming to be an "old war buddy" of Petrovich Sr. appeared in their village. Gregori had never heard of this man before, but he assured him that he and his father were allies.

In secret, the man gave a series of documents to Gregori, containing undoubtable evidence that his father was actually a spy for the Johto navy. With this information, Gregori learned many new things about the Great War, including old secrets that Kanto's navy would not want to be made public. While this information came as a shock, Gregori knew in his heart that it was true. He would never doubt his father's actions. The side he fought for was the right one.

The stranger, a Johto sympathizer, had come to take Gregori's father to Johto to aid in the new war effort. Wishing to fulfill his late father’s legacy, Grigori opted to take his place. That night, he left his village in secret, hopping onto a Johto-bound ship and into the life of battle he had always desired.

Gregori sees Pokémon as purely fighters, and respects those that he deems to be strong. Although he’s spent many years beating them up, Gregori has no knowledge of how to use a Pokémon in combat.

This may prove to be problematic.

Pokemon:

:pokeball: Name: Ivan | Species: Spheal | Nature: Hardy | Ability: Thick Fat |Gender: Male

Ivan is…special. While the rest of his family hid when Johto scientists came to Shoal Cave, this curious little Spheal wandered out into the open. Since then, the Navy has trained him (with varying degrees of success) in the art of battle. Ivan doesn’t necessarily understand war; all he knows is that if he hits something hard enough, the things with legs give him a treat!

Ivan has no idea what to think of the hulking brute who now owns him. Gregori, on the other hand, is utterly disgraced by the creature. After all, how can something so small and weak ever hope to accomplish anything?

Ivan wants to be friends with Vladimir. It isn't working.

:pokeball: Name: Vladimir| Species: Kingler| Nature: Adamant| Ability: Shell Armor|Gender: Male

This crusty crustacean has a thick protective shell of armor which makes him slightly larger than others of his species. Unlike the round and derpy Ivan, Vladimir is all business and enjoys nothing more than battle. His shell armor provides an excellent defense, and his huge pincers can crush or smash most anything that gets in his way.

While Vlad is a vicious and brutal physical combatant, it appears he will only fight those who he deems worthy of facing in the field of battle. Vlad will often ignore smaller, "weaker" opponents completely, deeming them to not be a threat unless proven otherwise. He also has a bit of a stubborn streak, and will refuse to back down from a challenge even when it could potentially mean his death.

Although Vladimir can hardly be considered friendly, he appears to have some respect for Gregori, and recognizes his strength.

He ignores Ivan completely.
